Policies for Pumicestone...

There are so many things to sort out – so many unaddressed problems – and also so many opportunities in Pumicestone which have not been explored and brought to fruition.

Over the next few weeks I will be consulting with key stakeholders in the electorate to fully identify just what needs to be done.  In the meantime, here are some of the issues I would pursue as the next Member for Pumicestone:

  • Giving the people living in the northern parts of the present Moreton Bay Regional Council area the opportunity of setting up a new council which will allow them to properly develop their own amenities, their own events and their own infrastructure
  • Putting a stop to intimidation and corruption in government
  • Working with young people to keep them productively engaged in our local area
  • Addressing the problem of rising unemployment (and under-employment) in the Pumicestone electorate
  • Working with other community leaders to reduce crime in the Pumicestone electorate
  • Confronting our constantly rising water and electricity charges
  • Working with Moreton Bay Regional Council to help keep our waterways clean
  • Ensuring the new Draft Plan for Moreton Bay is sensible and balanced and does not disadvantage local communities
